Academic Scholarships for a sophomore Engineering Student? I just finished my second year as a mechanical engineering student and am in search of some legit scholarship opportunities. I do well academically (should be able to meet any academic requirements for scholarships) I have looked on the sites compiling a bunch of different scholarships and was wondering if there are better alternatives as these seem too corporate and publicized. Any ideas/experiences offered are greatly appreciated.

NCAA Football Scholarships (Is their a difference between athletic & academic)? Is the quantity of NCAA scholarships given to each team limited to athletic scholarships or to all players on the team. For example, say someone receives an Academic scholarship to a school, tries out for the football team and is selected, does he count against the cap?
