Academic Scholarships for a sophomore Engineering Student? I just finished my second year as a mechanical engineering student and am in search of some legit scholarship opportunities. I do well academically (should be able to meet any academic requirements for scholarships) I have looked on the sites compiling a bunch of different scholarships and was wondering if there are better alternatives as these seem too corporate and publicized. Any ideas/experiences offered are greatly appreciated.
NCAA Football Scholarships (Is their a difference between athletic & academic)? Is the quantity of NCAA scholarships given to each team limited to athletic scholarships or to all players on the team. For example, say someone receives an Academic scholarship to a school, tries out for the football team and is selected, does he count against the cap? Is their a specific NCAA rule for a situation like this or is this a possible loop-hole for academically gifted football players?

Private School Academic Scholarships? I'm looking into going to private school for highschool. However, my parents don't want to pay, and we don't qualify for financial aid. What colleges offer best academic scholarships? Since I can hardly pay by myself for a college, I have to find one that offers best academic scholarships. I have just finished my first semester with a 4.00 GPA at one accredited 4-year public university. My desired and current major is marketing. I like it here, but I am not sure my current University will reward me with an improved scholarship. Therefore I have to start searching for a place to transfer, just in case. I want to go to best college possible, since I believe I can do this well anywhere. What are the best colleges that offer good academic scholarships? Thank you in advance, Peace
Can I apply my University of St Thomas Academic Scholarship to room and board? I have a Type 7 AFROTC scholarship which pays for tuition and books. St Thomas will pay whatever AFROTC doesn't except for room and board my first year. I have a St Thomas Academic Scholarship for $19,000 a year (much more than room and board). Will I be able to apply this toward room and board since tuition is already being paid by the Air Force?
Looking for undergraduate scholarships based on art or creative writing.? My younger brother is starting college this Fall and he's looking for ways to receive scholarships. Outside of the usual merit scholarships for a good academic record or involvement in extracurricular activities, what are some scholarships he could receive based on his artistic ability or writing? I know I've seen contests where one can win a scholarship based on winning a creative writing contest or something of the sort. Does anyone know of any good ones like that? Links please? Thank you for your help!
Do you know any scholarship foundations for academic opportunities? I am 13 years old and I am very interested in my academic career. I am looking forward to going to academic camps over the summer and school vacations but, they seem to be rather pricey. Thank you very, very much.

Are scholarships from colleges only based on merit? I'm looking at a few schools, however, I am worried about the money issues. When colleges give out scholarships, do they give academic scholarships considering grades, SAT scores, GPA, etc or is only based on merit and PSAT Scores? I am not quite sure how it works! If anyone is willing to explain me some more detail it would be greatly appreciated! Scholarships from the school itself, not scholarships that you need to apply for from a program, etc. Thanks!
Can I get an academic scholarship to Arizona State? I'm going to be a junior and my GPA is a 3.8174 but I want to know the chance that I get a academic scholarship. Are there academic scholarships for adults in college? I was in an accelerated program at an accredited private college in NY state. I haven't finished, (took a leave of absence for a few months) and will be returning asap. My average when I stopped was a 3.85. I'm a 29 year old female non traditional student; hence the accelerated program... Are there scholarships that I can apply for because of my gpa, or others available to people like me? I'm desperate!!! I actually found some interesting information on my own while waiting for some answers... so anyone who comes across this who has the same question... check out this link.... http://www.ocssral.colostate.edu/ral/documents/Scholarships%20Adult%20%20Nontraditional.092104.doc
What can I do to heighten my chances at getting an academic scholarship to college? Okay, so I'm only 12 (entering 7th grade this year) and I would do nearly anything to receive a scholarship to college so I can study web design and graphic design (basically visual arts). I'm trying to hold a very high GPA until I graduate from college. I've always had a 4.0 my whole short education, and I have been told that there is more to getting a scholarship than good grades. What can I do (starting now) to really boost my chances at a scholarship? I know how silly this question sounds, and I have been laughed at for planning ahead so far, but I'd still like to know. Not to brag, but with a 125 IQ... I don't know if that'll get me a scholarship. *shrug* I really want a scholarship, but I don't want to have to CONSTANTLY be studying. I want to be able to spend time with my friends, too! Thanks a bunch, everyone who answered or is answering this question!

So my question do you have to apply for a scholarship at that school or when you get your letter of acceptance do they say: we will give you this much money if you go here. I'm a little confused, how do you know if you get any money to go there?

Has anybody gotten an academic scholarship from the University of Pittsburgh? I am thinking about going here, and just wondering if I have a chance for a scholarship. The website lists that SAT and high school grades are major factors in deciding on scholarship eligibility. Unfortunately, the site doesn't give any numbers as to give you an idea for what to have. Is it okay to use your ethnicity to obtain academic scholarships? I am 25% Puerto Rican but appear caucasian. However, I am considering going to Grad School and would like to use my Puerto Rican ethnicity to obtain a scholarship. Background - I grew up in an upper middle class family and received a solid education. However, it sure would be nice to leave grad school without any additional debt - I didn't use my ethnicity in undergrad so I have about $15K left to pay off in loans. So... 1) Dont hate the player, hate the game? 2) Dont take steroids to win the game?
