What scholarships can help me for college? I'm a junior at my school and i'm preparing for college. I'm hoping to get accepted at a cal state, but money is a real big issue. I have a parent who isn't willing to help me get into college. (Sad huh?) I want to know if anyone can help me find a website or know about any type of programs that can help me earn a scholarship for my school. I'm trying to get my G.E.'s first. Then i'll worry about my major or minor later. So, hopefully someone out there can tell me more information...
When is the "right" time to apply for scholarships? Currently, I'm attending a local community college. As we all know community college financially, is reasonable in comparison to a University. My question is, do I apply to different types of scholarships BEFORE I apply to several different Universities or do I do so AFTER I am accepted? Or should I begin now? I hope that made sense, looking for some good responses! Oh, and if I do apply for scholarships right now, and I am not planning on applying to Universities until about 1 year from now, is right now actually a good choice? (Whoa, how's that for a run on sentence)

So I have a few questions... Can i get a scholarship? What type of Scholarships are there? What do colleges look at, just grades? What are some of the TOP colleges in America? Are there colleges in a different country? And would it be okay, for me to go there? And, is okay if i'm not 100% sure what i want to be yet? And if i'm still not sure when it comes time to go to college, what should i major in that if i decide, i'll be able to do it? And I'm not talking about Yale or Princeton. just so you know ;] But what do those colleges specialize in?

College Scholarships: Leadership Experience? It's about time for me to start preparing to apply for college grants/scholarships. I've already looked at a few, and what I've noticed is that many judge the amount of leadership experience you have. I have done lots of service-type volunteer work, but that's different from leadership experience. What would be some good examples of obtaining leadership experience in the community or among peers (not in school)?

how do i find scholarships for my daughter ? I never went to college, and dont know what to do? 1. My daughters father was traumatically killed by a lady who chose to take RX drugs and drive. She has not done any community service type things she has had an awful time dealing with the loss of her dad 2 years ago. She is 17 now and plans on working this summer, she has her CNA license. 2. I work as a civilian for a Law Enforcement Agency. 3. She did get a substancial monetery amount from a civil suit. Does that hurt her chances for scholarships? 4. She wants to become a dentist.
I am wondering what the maximum amount of money a full-time college student can make and still recieve full? I am a full-time college student who claims his parents as dependent. I have worked several jobs and have a total income over $5500 for the calendar year. When beginning my taxes, I noticed once I went over 5000, my Federal Tax Return went from $329 to $185. I am wondering why I am not able to receive all of my federal taxes back. Is there some type of cutoff? Do student scholarships, grants, ect. change that further in the process?
What type of government do we currently have in the USA? It is obvious our leaders want complete governmental control, and obviously does not believe that people are capable of handling things themselves. I take no issue with financial aide for college, and scholarships and such. I take no issue, and am actually thankful that public aide is provided to single moms. I do, however, take issue with the government controlling our banks, as well as the federal government imposing sales taxes on products! What type of leadership is it considered when the government Controls our financial institutions? What type of government is it considered when the people no longer have a right to privacy? What type of government is it considered when the government governs how people are to raise their children?
Best way to choose a major/college? Scholarship help? I'm a senior in high school now and I'm still undecided as to what I want to do with my life. I've been toying with the idea of a surgeon or medical research (stem cells and whatnot). But I'm not confident enough in either of those to set them as my goal in life. Are there any free strengths/career/abilities tests out there to give me a good idea of what I'm good at? Or, tell me how you chose your major, anything helpful in those areas would be great. The pressure is on now and i need to get my act together. Thanks Also, I know I'm gonna need as many scholarships as i can get if I'm gonna do anything medical. But i have NO extracurricular activities and while I'm a good student, (GPA is around 3.6), I'm no valedictorian. What type of scholarships should I look for and where's a good place to start?
Will ISS affect my College Application, scholarships, and sports scholarships? Ok, Im currently a junior and I have done a lot of extra curricular activities and Im number one on the tennis team. I was in the library and I went to the google translator and typed in a derogatory sentence. I somehow got caught and got 1 day ISS, the principal said he wouldnt call my parents and I didnt have to tell em. im just wondering will this effect my application into college and possibly sports??

How to get a scholarship to summer program? I'm interested in going to the college prep program for high school students at Columbia University next summer but if accepted, I wouldn't be able to afford it. In the FAQ it said they don't have financial aid but they do have scholarships except it was a bit confusing on how to go about applying for one. Can anyone help me with this? And are there other types of scholarships for summer programs for high school students? Thanks so much! :] -Lindsey
I want to know what kind of college I am eligible for? I'm starting sophomore year soon, and I need to know whether I should stay where I'm at grade and activity-wise, or if I should push harder. I'm taking two honors courses, and have all As, with maybe one or two B's. I'm in Girl Scouts (11 yrs), I am in three volunteer type clubs at school. I don't play any sports. I have around a 3.8 GPA. Haven't taken SATs yet. I am in a very high end school system with a high college acceptance rate- wealthy, lots of available resources, so I can make changes based on your answers. I would really hate to go to community college, so I need to know what kinds of activities get the most scholarship $ from higher-up colleges. What kind of a college can I get into? Should I be working harder? What advice do you have? Please help.. my parents aren't exactly the most supportive out there.

How to you get donations from corporations, community partners, and individuals for non-profit events? Types of donations needed: Event settings - table, chair, linens, silverware, glassware; entertainment, MC, caterer, music, lighting, porta potties, alcohol, silent auction items, etc. This is needed for a gala fundraising event for college scholarships for our seniors and other school assistance.
